My passion in art has always been with the Australian landscape, mostly of the Glasshouse Mountains. I do not wish to represent the landscape as a postcard replica but rather of the feeling and atmosphere surrounding me at the time. I try and capture that still moment between reality and fantasy, highlighting a mystical aura. As I sit and watch, I perceive the fine detailed beauty of earth’s natural bounty and graphically try and interpret a myriad of feelings that I experience. The thoughts and ideas I have, allow me to portray vibrant colour, diverse and unique in its expression, yet hopefully encompassing the awesomeness of our rugged and beautiful outback.
The intensity of colour that I use is important in my paintings. It justifies the love for my art from within my soul, giving life to that blank canvas before me. What a pleasure layering the colours to achieve my own sense of texture. I play with the effects, eventually bringing forth the finished product for others to share.
I feel privileged to be given this gift and I endeavour to pursue what is longing to be expressed within my heart enriching the infinite faces and expressions of the world of art.
